Lighting design at VSS starts in previs. The show is built in Capture before it exists anywhere physically. Fixture IDs assigned, patch built, console connected, high quality renders pulled before a single fixture is rigged.
That process serves two purposes. It gives the client a visual reference for what the show will look like. And it speeds up the delivery. When the team arrives on site everything is already mapped, patched, and programmed. The physical build is an implementation of work that's already been done, not a starting point.
VSS designs and programmes lighting across arena touring, cultural commissions, and immersive installations. The lighting designer and programmer on most shows is also the operator on the night. The person who built the show runs it. That continuity matters in the room.
