Brief

Everything the eye can process sits between 380 and 700 nanometres. Visible Light takes that band as its subject. An original VSS exhibition staged at St Columb's Hall in Derry in November 2023.

The show moved through a sequence of pieces, each taking a different part of how light becomes experience. Cortex traced the neurons responsible for consciousness, memory and attention. Fractured worked with the brain's pattern recognition. Perception paired a guided breathing exercise with light and shape, slowing the audience down until the room did the work.
